"Because I loved rubber stamping, a friend of mine handed me a copy of the D.O.T.S.
catalog (DOTS was the name of our company back in 1997). I fell in love with the designs and could see the prices were very competitive with my local stamp stores! That same day I wrote a letter to D.O.T.S. requesting information. Soon I was contacted by a local consultant and we arranged a home demonstration. I was already hooked, and asked for all the information on becoming a consultant. My application went in the day after the demonstration I hosted. I loved the products, the set up of the company, and I just knew this was for me!
Now, 12 years later, I am continuing to enjoy this business. In February of 1998 I left my full time position as church secretary which I had held for over 10 years to make Close To My Heart. my full time career. Even while working full time, I could make my own hours and put in as much time as I wanted. My problem was I just couldn't get enough of sharing stamping and scrapbooking with others. There were so many incredible opportunities to pursue, so the rest as they say is history!
I have been married for 35 years to a terrific man, Joe. He's been so supportive of my Close To My Heart. business, and often offers suggestions! We have one daughter, Laura, who is married and a part time Close To My Heart consultant. As you can see from the photograph, our family also includes the first grandchild, Bryce. Bryce adds new meaning to the word "scrapbook"!
